Abstract

The finger ring with interchangeable ornamental element, e.g. an imitation or precious stone of uniform of variegated colour, has a square metal mounting frame contg. the stone, and twin rings (5) hinged to opposed frame edges so as to be pivoted toward one another to form the finger aperture and lock the stone in the frame. The frame is a basally open square shallow box with a viewing aperture cut in the top surface and of a depth to suit stone depth. The rings have concave surfaces which face away from each other when the rings are adjacent. The rings have notches forming shoulders locking the rings in position.
