Abstract

Fibre-board is produced by (a) mixing the fibres with water in a mixing vessel, (b) pumping the suspension to a drainage chamber, (c) dewatering on a sieve to form a fleece, and (d) subjecting the fleece to pressing and/or heat treatment. A wetting agent is added to the material before step (d). Process gives relatively short pressing times, low heat consumption during heat treatment and good quality plates, esp. having good hydrophobic properties.
