Abstract

A U-shaped curved metallic flexible strip, pref. covered by means of a leather-strap or a strap, made of similar type of material, is fastened on the interior surface of the thumb and on that of the index finger and thus acts as reinforcement opposite the joint of the thumb and the index finger. A similar type of leather-covered flexible metallic strip is used for >=1 of the remaining fingers, i.e. on its interior surface >=1 of the leather or other strings extends up to the palm of the band. The device offers better-resistance to sheet-metal than prior chain-type reinforcements, which were sometimes pierced by the sheet-metal.
