Abstract

The back of the chair, comprises two uprights which are solid with the front legs. The rear legs have top (12) and bottom crossbars and pivot between the inner faces of the front legs. The seat pivots between the base of the back uprights and has stiffening ribs underneath. Recesses in these ribs locate over the front crossbar (12) of the rear legs to form a lock. Bearing pads are provided and articulated links ensure correct operation. Stays pivoting on the rear crossbar of the rear legs have recesses in their lower front faces to locate over the bottom stay of the front legs.
