Abstract

A ski is decorated by applying to the surface of the ski with pref. a transparent thermoplastic glue, a plastic film on which the decoration have been marked. The method is quicker and requires less finishing off than conventional decorating process. Pref. the film is resistant to U.V. light and is strong and stable and is pref. of polyester. The max. thickness of the film is pref. 0.04 mm and the decorations are applied to the film by a serigraphic printing technique. Pref. the film is covered with a plastic varnish (e.g. ABS) which has pref. a max. thickness of 0.04 mm. The film may be secured to e.g. a finished ski or a ski plant with a layer of acrylic glue having a max. thickness of 0.01 mm.
