Abstract

Alloy of metals which are non-precious, stainless and non-toxic, intended for composite dental prostheses, replacing alloys of metals which are precious, too expensive, too heavy, insufficiently rigid and with inferior adhesion to ceramics. The pref. alloy is (a) light, due to a high Ni content; (b) rigid, due to the pptn. of chromium carbide; (c) stainless, because it contains 23% Cr; (d) adheres to ceramic because it contains Fe + Al + Mn; (c) provided with deoxidants e.g. Mn and Si; (f) of increased strength and with better castability due to the addn. of boron; (g) non-toxic, due to the complete absence of Be. the alloys are used for metal-ceramic structures which are lighter, stronger and have longer life than conventional prostheses.
