Abstract

Each link (2) is rectangular block with its side (2a) and top (2c) faces flat or slightly concave. The underside has a longitudinal rib (2e) each side to bear on the guide rail formed by two U-shaped sections enshrouding the link. A central hole (3) in the link is used for attachments. Each end has one element of a hinge and comprises a curved slot (6, 7) with the end face (2f, 2h) of each link extending for less than the full link height. The inner faces of the slots have rounded ribs (6a, 7a) to reduce when the hinge elements of adjacent links are slotted together. The chain is driven by friction wheels engaging the sides.
