Abstract

The machine tool consists of, a two dimensional co-ordinate table and a tool holder whose work centre corresponds with the datum of the co-ordinates. A first system separately measures the two co-ordinates in a first position of the table and a second system takes in information for the indication of the second positions to which the table should travel and drives to generate a relative movement of the tool holder along at least one of the co-ordinates in reaction to a discrepancy signal transmitted by the systems. An optical system observes part of a working plane of the table and a third system generates an image of crossed lines, forming a framework in the work plane of the table such that the centre of the image is accurately lined up with the centre of the tool holder.
