Abstract

The supporting body (10) on which the bulbs (11) are mounted is covered by a continuous diffuser in one or more sections (18). The diffuser is of inverted channel section, and its inner surface preferably has lengthwise ribs (20) formed in it, while the outer surface is preferably smooth. The supporting body can be of U1 section, the diffuser hooking into engagement with the upper ends and a mounting plate containing the cable with the bottom ones. Each bulb can be mounted in a socket which is insulated, the socket in turn having an angle piece fitting between it and the support, with a translucent vertical section between it and the adjacent bulb.
