Abstract

Nascent oxygen is used for cosmetological treatment and is produced (a) in an aqs. soln. of immediate use, specifically for dyeing hair, pref. by reacting an NACL soln. with H2O2 and for facial treatment by foaming the soln. contg. the nascent oxygen with soap, (b) by passing oxygen through a micro-wave generator or (c) by excitation of oxygen with UV rays. Nascent oxygen is biologically neutral and is less harmful than ordinary oxygen towards living tissues. Other uses include bath prepns., prepn. of beauty masks and in facial sprays as a replacement for ozone.
