Abstract

Two pruning arms (1, 2) pivot around a pin (5), the assembly being mounted on a small horticultural rotary cultivator. The arms are encassed in protective covers (3, 4). A shaft (6) at the end of each arm is fixed to tube (7) which slides inside tube (1), a tensioning belt which drives pulley (10). Two spiral steel rods are welded at opposite sides of disc (12), integral with pulley (10). These rods are able to remove the lower leaves of the plant without harming the young upper leaves. Drive to the pulley (10) comes from double pulley. The arms are held apart by a coil spring, and connected by a chain adjustable for length.
