Abstract

The minute shaft drives the minutes disc via a 1:10 ratio gearing and a spring ratchet mechanism, such that the disc rotates through 36 degrees each minute, and with the disc carrying the numbers 0 to 9 spaced around its periphery, so that each number becomes visible below the viewing window. Upon each complete rotation of the minutes disc the ten minutes disc is rotated through 36 degrees, this disc having the numbers 0 to 5 spaced at 60 degree intervals around its periphery, and rotated through the additional 24 degrees, required to bring the next number into the viewing position, by a spring device actuated by the switching lug of the 10 minutes disc.
