Abstract
A flowmeter or a water consumption meter measures the quantity of liquid in circulation in a pipe, and two metallic thermometers (1) measure the temperatures at two different points of the pipe. The temperature difference at these points is reflected in rods (2, 3) which rotate discs (8) in opposite directions about an axis (4). These discs (5) rotate a second disc and turn it about the axis (4) with a toothed sector (7) which drives, in parallel, a toothed rule (8) and a third disc (9) which moves freely along the axis of a recorder (10) while remaining in contact with a fourth disc (11) which is linked to the flowmeter. Thus the number of revolutions of the third disc (9) is proportional to the produce i.e. the heat loss and is recorded on the recorder (10).
