Abstract

A row of parallel members (8) supporting the roof cover (T) are attached to the cover, with at least one being attached to the supporting frame. A row of parallel weights (9) parallel to the supporting members are attached to the cover between pairs of adjacent supporting members. Rollers (6) attached to the ends of each of the supporting members slide along two parallel guides (3) perpendicular to the supporting members and solid with the supporting frame. A drive shaft (10) parallel to the supporting members rests on the frame. A cable and chain mechanism acts on the supporting members and thereby on the cover and the weights, folding or unfolding the cover. The apparatus can be operated either manually or automatically.
