Abstract

The cooling channel is for transformers, particularly low voltage types, where the conductor winding is in the form of a metal ribbon (12). The winding is laid on the former in the usual manner but at predetermined intervals the band is corrugated (11) spacing the previous and later windings without the use of any further inserts. The metal band is fed to the transformer through a pair of cogs which are partially interlocked to form the corrugations at the required intervals by an automatic engaging system, the cogs being motor driven, during winding of the normal flat or plain ribbon the two cogs are withdrawn from each other.
