Abstract

The reel for wires and cables is made from two identical moulded parts. Each part forms half of the central cylinder (2) and of the end discs (3, 4). The edges of the central cylinder have slots and ridges which locate the parts, and the edges of the end discs have pins and holes (7, 8) for the same reason. Moulded strips (11) on the inside of the cylinder are used to centre the reel on a shaft, and an external moulding (10) is used in driving the reel in rotation.
