Abstract
Insulator mixt. esp. for use above 1500 degrees C contains, by wt., (a) 10-30 (19-25) % expanded ground mica with screen sizing 47% >1 mm, 69% >0.75 mm, 81.5% >0.6 mm, 88% >0.5 mm, 92.7% >0.4 mm, 95.8% >0.3 mm, 98% >0.2 mm and 99% >0.1 mm, (b) 50-80 (61-68) % standard hydraulic binder with sintered finely ground components, suitable for plaster and mortar prepn. and contg. inter alkali, very fine sand and surfactants, (c) 4-20 (6-16)% Al2O3 cement, based on limestone and bauxite, and (d) 0.4-2.5 (0.7-1.5)% silicate additive based on Na disilicate, having good absorption power.
