Abstract

A device to coat a moving surface with a band or strip of adhesive material is constructed such that the input pipe (14) to introduce adhesive material onto the coating wheel (10) is mounted on the front wall of the coating chamber (13) and the outflow pipe (15) of greater diameter than the inflow pipe (14) is mounted on the opposite wall of the coating chamber (13). A continuous flow of adhesive material through the coating chamber (13) results. Sections cut out of the coating wheel (10) are formed by grooves (11) which are closed by the edges of the coating wheel (10). The whole coating assembly is constructed as a shoe (12) of low frictional coefficient polymeric material which has a bottom curved region into which the coating wheel (10) fits.
