Abstract

Carbon dioxide is used as additive at pref. >0.1 vol. % for preventing polymsn. of gaseous hydrogen cyanide, either alone or in ammonia-free gas mixts. contg. hydrogen cyanide. Efficient stabilisation is obtd. at low cost. No corrosion of mild steel equipment occurs. Stabilisation is effected in the presence of a wide range of materials.
