Abstract

The standard weldmesh reinforcing system is for concrete buildings and uses low gauge steel for bond efficiency. A wall and lap sheets pref. embody two or more bars at reduced centres on their peripheries, thus providing stiffness and strength at lap points; and wall sheets employ triangulated forms on one or both flanks to provide stiffening at door openings. For lightly reinforced walls, a separate triangulated unit provides end stiffening; an assymetric 'U' piece is used in lintols; and a legged stool is provided for use in floor slabs in the vicinity of support walls: this latter providing resistance to the local bending moments in a fashion that will not be displaced during concrete pouring.
