Abstract

The ground anchorage of the deforming vane type, used for anchoring cable stays to the ground, is of arrowhead, form with five tapered vanes (15) converging at the end of a pointed (2) shaft (1); and employes vane notches (14) to create a local weakness whereby the vanes deform or fold after unit insertion and rotation, thus, enhancing resistance to tractive extraction forces. A groove (16) is introduced in each vane (15), thus producing an orientation of vanes, after folding approximately normal to extraction forces, instead of folding over beyond this point as in the prior case. Notches (14) on each vane align defining an obtuse angle with upward shaft extension.
