Abstract

The apparatus for lifting a prefabricated floor or storey for a building consists of a number of units, each unit having a base (12) with a rectangular hole through it so that it may be fitted over a vertical column (2), with long screws (11) passing through it and supporting it, the screws passing through internally threaded bushes (14) on the base, and secured at their tops by fittings (35) around the column. A motor driven spindle across the base turns a bevel wheel drive (29, 30) so that a striker arm (32) rotates about a vertical axis, and the drive spindle being supported by eccentrics (6), the striker arm is also raised and lowered so that it rotates alternately an upper (25) and a lower (26), drive arm to rotate alternate chain drives (19, 20) which operate alternative nut mechanism on the screws (11) to lift the prefabrication member (36) in steps.
