Abstract

A container having a flange around its mouth is injection moulded between male and female moulds, the male mould having associated with it a number of axially extending rods secured at one end in a spring loaded mounting and whose free ends are provided with a locking formation so that during moulding the flange is moulded around the locking formations whereby when the female mould is removed the container is held on the male mould. Surrounding the male mould is an ejector ring having apertures through which the rods extend. To remove the container the ejector ring is moved axially along the male mould until it engages the flange of the container and forces it free from the locking posns. of the rods. Continued movement of the ejector ring pushes the container off the end of the male mould. Removal of containers (partic. polystyrene) is effected by a pushing action whereby deformation of the containers is reduced.
