Abstract

The clamping mechanism of a safety ski fixture is regulated by adjusting the load exerted by a compression spring. The adjuster screw carries a flanged nut bush which is located in one end of the spring. As the screw is turned, the flanged bush moves axially together with the compression or extension of the spring. A radial lug on the bush flange is engaged in the helix slot of a bush which is part of the indicator element. The indicator disc has numbers which can be seen through a window in the cover. An accurate display of the spring tension and thus of the fixture setting is obtained in this way.
