Abstract

The launcher tube (1) is joined to the magazine tube (5) by an insulating sleeve (6), forming a continuous path. The missiles (2a, 2b, 2c) are stacked inside the magazine, the nose of each touching the firing cap (3a) in front. An electrical generator (7) is connected through a switch (8), to both tubes and, in addition, to a propulsive charge (10) at the bottom of the magazine tube. Closing the switch fires this charge to move a piston (9) and propel the missiles up the tubes, their own propulsive charges being fired electrically on the way. Induction coils can be used to initiate firing and the tubes can be installed in banks for multiple operation.
