Abstract

The multipurpose shelving comprises basically rectangular uprights (4) whose fastening sides (12) lie parallel to the longitudinal direction of the console brackets (22) which are detachably fastened to the slots and/or lugs in the holding plates (23). Where the bracket (22) is fastened, the sheet steel holding plates (23) which engage roung the uprights (4) are detachably held by the lugs and/or slots (14). The lugs and/or slots (14) for fastening the console bracket (22) are provided on opposite sides of the holding plates (23). Thus although the uprights are only provided with slots on one side, the brackts (22) can be connected in whatever plane required whilst the torque exerted by the load is transferred by the holding plates to the uprights, ensuring that the connection is stable. The thickness of the sheet steel for the holding plates can be thicker than that used for the uprights.
