Abstract

A multiplex data switching system for pulse code modulated signals comprises a spatial switch to which are connected groups of multiplex junctions. A time base switch is also connected selectively to these junctions through the spatial switch. Memory elements are connected through the spatial switch and are under the control of the time base switch so that input channel data can be stored to ensure that the output channels are in the correct relationship with the input. Lack of a control signal for three consecutive frames causes part of the memory to be reset to zero.
