Abstract

The prepn. of polypeptides fixed to a support comprises generating radicals in an aq. soln. of the polypeptide (I) in presence of a macromolecular cpd. (II) contg. at least one olefinic double bond per molecule, and in the absence of a radical-polymerisable monomer. Esp. useful for prepn. of immobilised enzymes, enzyme inhibitors, antibodies, or hormones, used in various biochemical processes, medicine diagnostics, etc. The process is also applicable to cpds. having a partial peptide structure, e.g. penicillins, or for reacting non-peptides with oligopeptides and fixing them to macromolecules via these gps.
