Abstract

Each cushion is made from an impermeable material which is also non inflammable. It can be fitted to the chair or vehicle seat by means of straps or lacing around the seat framework. Cushions can be fitted or removed without the use of tools and, when soiled, can be simply washed. The elasticity of the air acts as a shock absorber and the use of a safety belt is not impaired. As protection against vandalism, each cushion is provided with an interior valve which gives out a warning signal when the cushion is deflated. Cushions are easily stored until required.
