Abstract

The required maximum speed is set by a scale needle (1) and the actual speed is detected by a screen (6) movable over photodetectors (7) selectively coupled to the scale needle. Blocking a cell corresponding to a set speed gives a signal to immobilise the engine. The speedometer is a device which measures pulses in a given time from a generator and includes bistables controlled by relays. The engine control comprises a lever carrying a carburettor adjustment sector joined to the accelerator by two opposed springs. One of these springs acts on a contact restoring power when speed has been reduced. The action on the carburettor butterfly can be pneumatic or electropneumatic.
