Abstract

The mechanism comes in kit form and can be easily fitted. One case is fixed to the inside of one door, which is preferably movable, a second case is fixed to the inside of the other door which is preferably immobilised. The first case contains a bolt which is aligned with an electrically activated catch in the second case which in turn is linked to at least one control mechanism. A third case is attached to the outside of the second door and contains an alarm bell and a lock consisting of a key-cylinder which activates the catch. The mechanism can either be operated by a person leaving the establishment or by someone inside opening the door after screening a visitor.
