Abstract

The flexible thermoplastic membrane is deposited onto a retainer and pre-formed rigid inserts are deposited into correspondingly shaped hollow spaces in the retainer, so that the membrane is positioned between inserts and retainer, to form a base for the packaging. Goods are stacked onto this arrangement, and covered in a water-proof foil, or thin plate. The material is then connected sealed to the circumference of the thermoplastic membrane. The membrane may have pre-formed hollows, and the hollow inserts are cone or truncated-cone shaped, and consists of a rigid synthetic material. A stiffening slab is deposited on the top of the membrane, after the inserts have been arranged.
