Abstract

Two bars (3) counteract warp of the door or window by applying tension or compression and are mounted vertically one above the other. The bars are anchored at their adjacent ends by pins (6) engaging in door sockets (13) and are adjustably fixed at their other ends by nuts (7) receiving bolts (4) locating freely in steel brackets (5) recessed into the door. The brackets (5) confine the bolts axially whilst permitting rotation and each bolt has an enlarged cylindrical head (4b) with radial holes (4c) and an upper rod extension (4d) which locates in a bracket socket (5c). Intermediate slidable slots (8) and screws (17) prevent the bars buckling and the whole assembly is recessed (12) into the leaf face.
