Abstract

There is an emitter-detector assembly, a memory and display assembly, an alarm circuit, and a loudspeaker and warning lamp assembly. There is also apparatus giving a voltage proportional to vehicle speed. The emitter-detector assembly may have ultrasonic equipment (sonar type), an HF generator and receiver or a laser beam system. The reference signal comprises a voltage proportional to the number of impulses stored by a counter previously set to zero. A signal of error is given from a vehicle driven device, which can be of several types. The alarm circuit receives both the reference and error signals. The operation is both automatic and independent of the driver.
