Abstract

The two headlamps are linked to similar servo levers each of which is coupled to a hydraulic servo cylinder. The hydraulic servo cylinders are coupled to a double master cylinder which operates both servo systems together using a common mechanical link and separate hydraulic circuits. The double cylinder is fitted behind the dashboard and is operated by a single manual control to set the headlamp inclination. Further improvement is obtained by linking the manual control to the master cylinder by a third hydraulic circuit, for temp. compensation. Each headlamp can be independently set to set the system up initially while automatic control can be included by linking the system to the suspension.
