Abstract

Panel of solar photo-electric cells forming an energy source or battery intended particularly for space applications, designed to improve overall efficiency and reduce heating effects. Circular individual photo-electric cells (1) are grouped in frames (7) of some opaque material, e.g. neoprene, forming a complete back plate to the cell group. Set between each photo-cell is a thin reflecting layer (6) arranged to be set slightly higher in the frame than the cells. Each cell is provided with a small thin tongue for interconnection. They are secured on their front or active faces (1a) by a transparent cement or glue to the rear facing side of a protective rigid cover plates (4).
