Abstract

The device is located in the jar tops and the jar is orientated to fill the measuring chamber and then to release the contents. The metering device is a push fit in the top of a jar and is closable by the jar lid. It comprises upper (1) and lower (2) walls joined by a peripheral boundary (3) and encloses three connected chambers (6, 7, 8), one of which (6) is open to the jar contents. One chamber (7) is open to the exterior and the third chamber (8) is a connecting chamber through which the contents of the first chamber (6) flow to the third chamber (8) as the jar is tilted, excess material falling back into the jar as the jar is tilted to empty the chamber (7).
