Abstract

The device is for use with a press having a reciprocating punch working in conjunction with a die, and has a sensor device movable in conjunction with the punch so as to approach the die before it, until it reaches a preset distance from the die. It is moved clear of the die when the punch reaches a preset distance from the latter. A roller-ended rocker lever mounted on the press bears against a cam actuated by the press drive mechanism, so that in operation the lever oscillates about its axis. The lever is connected to the sensor device, so as to effect relative movement between cam roller and device, causing the latter to move in a set pattern in relation to the punch when the press is working.
