Abstract

Both the male and female parts of the press fastener have a push-on locking means for holding the decorative cover and a reversible snap fitting is provided between the male part and the decorative cover. The top plate of the male part has an inwardly aligned raised portion extending from the edge which is engaged by the known claws so that the flanged edged of the raised portion forms the central opening of the push-on catch and may be shaped into individual barb-like tongues projecting inclined into the opening to secure the cover. The decorative cover can be in the form of a button which avoids the risk of losing buttons and sewing them on.
