Abstract

The synchronous motor control circuit has a flip-flop associated with each winding. Each flip-flop has three stable states; positive, negative and zero -- depending on the control signal received by the flip-flop. The flip-flops are controlled by a monitoring circuit and by a device that excites sequentially at the lower frequencies and is independent of the position and speed of the rotor. The device controls the flip-flops when starting the motor and is replaced by the monitor when the motor reaches a given speed. The two sets of controls for the flip-flops allow the motor to start by itself.
