Abstract

The developing station of the photocopier has a special container to hold the fluid developer whose upper end is covered with an array of tubes. The developer is forced onto the copy paper throught he gaps between the tubes, and after splashing back from the copy paper it is sucked into the the tubes through an array of holes. Before reaching the tubes the developer is thoroughly mixed by a perforated plate. The top of the container has a mesh to act as one pole of the developing electrode. The process ensures an even distribution of developer on the copy and it may be set up in the reverse direction i.e. with the developer sprayed from the tubes.
