Abstract

The oven has a series of spits (a-a4) running across the oven parallel to each other. At the back and each has a crank (h-h4). All the cranks fit into holes in a common plate (b) so as to be free to turn in the plate. the plate itself is attached to a crank (c) on the end of the shaft of a driving motor (e). when the motor rotates the crank imparts a circular motion to the plate (b) which thus turns the cranks of the spits and causes all the spits to turn about their own axes simultaneously. The arrangement enables a single motor to turn several spits without the use of chains and wheels which are difficult to keep in good contact.
