Abstract

Machine for mfg. various parts by the pressure casting of metals, esp. non-ferrous metals, uses three basic elements. (a) a die-closing system located on one side of a fixed plate, the die generally consisting of a moving upper part and a lower, fixed part; (b) a closing system for plates contg. the feeder channels located on the other side of the fixed plate; and (c) a vertical or inclined injection system consisting of a piston in a cylinder and mounted on the same side of the fixed plate as the die-closing system (a). System (a) pref. includes an ejector which pushes the casting out of the upper part of the die onto the lower part. Used esp. for casting Al squirrel cage rotors for electric motors.
