Abstract

The system to carry the weft across the shed of a shuttleless loom, where a weft grip is mounted on a flexible strip powered by a drive wheel, has holding lips at the rims of the drive wheel to support the flexible band, with a roller to ensure that the band is spread evenly across the edge of the wheel. The system ensures that the band is properly supported and aligned while being driven in a reciproacting motion across the loom, without incurring friction heat on the band which could lead to distortion and damage.
