Abstract

The instrument allows cement, medicaments or varnish to be deposited in the bottoms of dental cavities, and has at one end a loop (1) holding the cement etc., which is of creamy or semiliquid consistency. This allows it to be applied at the precise spot, without running under gravity along the instrument stem. The semiliquid product in the loop, when placed against the dentinary wall, can adhere to it by surface tension, this contact surface being larger than that of the loop wire. When the loop is withdrawn the product adheres to the spot where it has been placed. Loop position in relation to the stem can be variable, so that the loop bears flat against the wall to be protected.
