Abstract

Insecticidal compsn for protecting domestic animals comprising (a) an insecticide having an LD50 in the rat of >=50 mg/kg and a vapour press. at 25 degrees of 0.001 mm Hg; (b) a solid polymer (c) a plasticiser, (d) optional dyes, pigments stabilisers and deodorants; (e) an opt. container for the compsn comprising a hollow vessel of flexible plastic, insoluble in the active insecticide and not dissolving any of the insecticide, closed at each end and having holes along the length of the container (12-60 cm), and optionally having means of attachment. (f) optionally packaging material impervious to the insecticide. The compns do not emit such toxic vapours as compsns based on dichlorvos. Insecticidal action is not reduced by instability in rain. The compsns are not sticky to touch.
