Abstract

Volatile dichlorvos compsns. in which the evaporation of the dichlorvos is not blocked by the co-evaporant comprising (a) dichlorvos, (b) at least one co-evaporant which is an organic cpd. with a vapour pressure of 0.002 to 0.02 mm Hg at 25 degrees C, (c) a solid polymeric carrier and (d) optional plasticisers, light co-evaporants, perfumes, colouring matters, pigments, additional insecticides, stabilisers and fillers. Selected co-evaporants include diisopropyl maleate, dibenzyl, ethyl decanoate, diethyl suberate, succinic anhydride, dibutyl maleate, lauronitrile, hexachlorobenzene hexadecane. The preferred carrier is polyvinyl chloride although many other polymers e.g. cellulose acetate may be used. The preferred molecular wts. of these are >1000.
