Abstract
The discharge electrode system for gas lasers consists of electrode groups embedded in an insulator in an alternating series arrangement, the groups being mutually electrically contacted. One electrode type consists of a strip with at least one milled-out recess, while the other electrode type is formed by a row of pins embedded in the insulator at right angles to the strip extension. The electrodes contacting is carried out inside the insulator. Preferably the milled-out recesses are of longitudinal shape and rounded in the region of the narrow side of the strips. The pins may form counter electrodes of spark gaps consisting of themselves and the adjacent strips. Typically the strips are of shape which favourably affects the homogeneity of the gas discharge.
