Abstract

The angle of incidence of the light beam is inclined in relation to the boundary surface between the first fluid crystal cell wall and the fluid crystal film, so that this angle is smaller than the limiting angle in the case of the first potential difference, the light beam penetrating the film after diffraction, and greater than the limiting angle in the case of the second potential difference, the light beam undergoing total reflection on the boundary surface. There is also a projection screen which is arranged on any one of the diffracted and reflected paths followed by the lith beam.
