Abstract

The probe comprises a tube with a base at one end accommodating the tip of a syringe, while at the other is a flexible disc acting as a non-return valve for the fluid injected by the syringe. The disc has a central hole of diameter equal to the external tube diameter and an axial extension covering the tube end. The extension has a central orifice for the liquid injected. The orifice periphery joins onto the extension via a rounded surface. The design simplifies machining of the tube, since it is unnecessary to round the end off to avoid injuring the animal.
